A Message from the Principal

Dear Wildcat Families,

Recently, the state department of education released letter grades for our schools. As you can imagine, we are not satisfied with our letter grade and have been busy digging into our academic data as well as looking at what additional factors may be getting in the way of our academic success.
 Our CGMS Staff is committed to our focus on authentic learning. We are looking into our instructional practices and working collaboratively to grow professionally in our efforts to improve student learning.
 At CGMS, we will continue to empower and actively engage students in their own positive personal development process. We know that these skills are necessary to produce great neighbors and contributing citizens.
 It is our goal to build positive relationships with our students, families and community. We now have a variety of ways to communicate and to show off the great things that our students are doing. Join us on Facebook and let us know if you need assistance with your PowerSchool parent portal.
Did you know that last week our average daily absences were 80 students a day? If students are not present, they are not learning. Let’s all work together to ensure that our Wildcats are present each and every day for learning. Plan your child’s appointments around the school day and communicate with our office staff regarding any at-tendance questions.
Thank you to all our families who attended Parent-Teacher Conferences. Our Wildcats worked hard to prepare for student-led conferences and were very excited to introduce their families to their teachers. We had our Awards Assembly on October 30, 2018, at 2:15 PM in the Frank Davidson Auditorium. Students were recognized for grades (3.0 GPA+) and attendance.
