Jennifer Murrieta

Jennifer Murrieta,  Principal

Mrs. Murrieta was born and raised in South Dakota and earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Mrs. Murrieta began her career in education by relocating to Arizona and teaching at the elementary level.  In 2002, Mrs. Murrieta received her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and has since had the opportunity to be a Dean of Students for Coolidge Unified School District, an Assistant Principal in the Crane School District, Yuma, AZ.  In 2006 Mrs. Murrieta moved to Casa Grande and became the first Principal of Desert Willow Elementary School and later transitioned to Casa Grande Middle School in 2013. 


Mrs. Murrieta received the CASE Outstanding Leadership Award in 2010.  In 2011 she was a Rodel Exemplary Principal finalist and in 2012 was named a Rodel Exemplary Principal.  While at the Middle School she has been recognized at ASA Middle Level Distinguished Administrator of the Year in 2015 and received the Grand Canyon University STEM Principal of the Month.


Mrs. Murrieta is extremely proud to be the principal at CGMS where strong traditions reign and student success is a priority!
